The Paddle Shack in County Leitrim offer kayaking and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) tours on the majestic River Shannon, enabling visitors to experience the hustle and bustle of the river or the serene backwaters of Leitrim. A family run business, The Paddle Shack is based in Carrick-on-Shannon in County Leitrim. All of the kayaking and paddle boarding tours are led by Rory and assisted by his wife Aoife, who between them have over 20 years of paddling experience. Safety is a key priority, and both Rory and Aoife are experienced and qualified level 2 Irish Canoe Union instructors. As you gently paddle your way through the twists and turns of the River Shannon, you will uncover the sights and sounds of the breath taking County Leitrim landscape, weaving your paddle board or kayak with confidence along the River Shannon, instructed by one of the skilled tutors. As well as individuals, couples and families, The Paddle Shack also caters for hens and stags, corporate outings, secondary schools and youth groups. No experience is necessary, however a basic level of fitness is required. All equipment is provided for each tour and double kayaks are available upon request. A wetsuit is not necessary but can be provided to you at no extra cost. Hot showers are available on site for a marginal cost.
