Description

Animal encounters and a fun-filled family day out is what’s on offer at award-winning Glendeer Pet Farm – located in County Roscommon, Ireland. Housing over 50 species of animal, and offering a little something for every age – come rain or shine; there are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities at Glendeer Pet Farm to ensure you have an enjoyable and unforgettable visit – ours is a place where memories are made! With lots of engaging animal interactions, including cuddly, cheeky, cute, scaly and fluffy animals – it will be a difficult choice deciding which animal to pet first! Upon arrival, children will be given a bag of food mix to feed some of the animals such as donkeys, llama’s, sheep, emu and more! At Glendeer Pet Farm we also offer an unforgettable ‘up close and personal’ encounter with some of our exotic species – such as our cheeky monkeys; George and Gina, the wallabies, parrots, bearded dragons and mischievous meerkats. Little one’s can burn off energy in the playgrounds, or take a more relaxed approach searching for Tinkerbell on the Fairy Trail, which is set within a half-mile Nature Walk. As you walk the winding path, enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as children scurry off in search of hobbits and fairies – maybe they’re hiding under the toadstools? After animal encounters, take the weight off your feet and treat yourself to a tea or coffee, and maybe a sweet treat in our on-site coffee shop  – alternatively, bring your own picnic or snacks, and make use of the indoor or outdoor picnic area. And don’t forget to pick up a gift or souvenir from the coffee shop before you leave. Glendeer Pet Farm is a secure and carefree environment for children of all ages – whether your own ‘little monkeys’ prefer to interact with the many animals on our farm, or amuse themselves at our indoor or outdoor playgrounds – rest knowing that they do so safely. The zipline, double obstacle course, and maze, are great for keeping older children occupied, while the fairy trail, hobbit hamlet, sand barn, and soft-play area are perfect for younger children – and don’t let ‘rainy’ weather deter you from visiting, as many of the areas are covered for your comfort. Did You Know? Bearded dragons can sleep for many months without needing food or water – this form of sleep is called brumation.
