My husband and I had always dreamed of setting up a glamp site but didn't know where, or what exactly it would involve, until we stumbled across an abandoned sunken reservoir nestled in Downhill forest in the beautiful Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Northern Ireland. We fell in love with the area, so set about turning the brownfield site in to a magical forest escape, complete with four forest lodges - three of them on stilts to bring our guests closer to the forest canopy. We have a passion for nature and love that our lodges allow people to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquillity of the forest, while still enjoying a luxurious retreat, whatever the weather outside. Nearly all of our guests fall in love with the area - with it's 7-mile long beach, National Trust site and 80 hectares of forest - as much as we do, and we are so fortunate to have seen many of our guests return to Burrenmore Nest again and again.
