We moved from Suffolk in England to Ireland on the back of inheriting this draughty and damp old stone house we now call home. There was no grand plan beyond somehow making the land it came with provide some kind of income and a life different to that with which we were familiar. Whilst mulling over the options, we hit upon a company who built shepherd’s huts designed specifically for accommodation purposes and the idea of Bramblewick House was born. The name comes from the brambles that covered huge areas of the property and still dominate certain quarters. We keep it wild and wooly, with one eye on what is best for the wildlife as well as how to make things comfortable and enjoyable for our guests. We’re all about keeping things quiet and low key and being as much an escape from the world as we can be.
